A Celebration of Life Graveside Service with Full Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Main Post Cemetery, 64-66 Custer Road, Columbus, Georgia 31905.
Talmage was born in Dresden, Tennessee on July 16, 1931 to Lucille and Vance Glover. He retired from the United States Army as a Sergeant Major after 30 years of service. He fought fiercely in Vietnam and earned a Parachutist Badge along with a Bronze Star. He taught R.O.T.C. in Muscogee County for another 20 years after his retirement from the military.
He was an avid golfer, a Tennessee Vols fan, and a baseball fan. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather, who always strived to put his family first. He was always kind and generous to everyone he met and they endlessly referred to him as "Pops".
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie Stanley Glover; his daughter, Deborah Lease; and his brother, Jesse Neal Glover.
Talmage is survived by his son, Talmage Franklin Glover Jr. (Lindsey); his grandchildren, Dianna Nicole Maitland, Katie Glover (Logan), Ryan Glover, Kelly Towns (Kevin), Ben Chance, and Brooke Chance; his great grandchildren, Kylie, Abby, and Joshua Towns; and his brother, Donald Glover.
