Born on April 7, 1975, in Phenix City, Alabama, Tamera was the daughter of Diane Davis and was later raised with the love and guidance of her stepfather, Dwight Jerkins.
For more than 20 years, Tamera worked as a welder at Fire Protection Solution inc., a career marked by steady dedication and genuine pride in a job done well. She was known as an amazing employee and a hard worker—someone who brought reliability, care, and strength to her work each day.
Above all, Tamera was “the best mimi ever,” and nothing mattered more to her than her family. She loved her grandchildren more than anything and carried deep joy and unmistakable pride in each of them. Whether spending time together close to home or walking her two dogs, Chocolate and Ali, around the neighborhood with her grandkids, she found her greatest happiness in the simple, meaningful moments shared with those she loved.
Tamera’s faith was central to her life. A devoted believer in Jesus, she was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Assembly of God for three years. Her faith was reflected not only in what she believed, but in how she lived—reaching out with kindness, helping anyone she could, and offering support with a generous spirit.
She also cherished time outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing with her friends, valuing the companionship and calm that came with those days.
Tamera is survived by her daughter, Stephany Simmons; son-in-in-law, Jason Simmons; her mother, Dianne Jerkins; grandchildren, Madilyne Ridenour, Jason Simmons Jr., and Jaxon Simmons; her sister-in-law Leslie Moseley; her nieces Kayla Moseley, Madison Moseley, and Autumn Moseley; and her nephew Joshua Moseley.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Grover Visage and Timothy Moseley; her son, Nathan Moseley; and her stepfather, Dwight Jerkins.
Tamera will be remembered with respect and gratitude for her steadfast love, her strong work ethic, her faith, and the devotion she gave so freely to her family—especially to the grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life.
There will be a celebration of life service for Tamera on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, in the Fisher Chapel, 4071 Macon Rd. Columbus GA 31907. Tamera will be laid to rest at Parkhill Cemetery following the service.
