Virginia B. Reed

Virginia B. Reed, 97 of Ellerslie, GA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. She was born on July 5, 1927 in Clarksburg, West Virginia to the late Lonnie and Clara (Smith) Simmons.

Virginia worked as a retail clerk for Revco Drug store for many years. She was a long time member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Ellerslie. She enjoyed traveling with her family and going RV camping with her husband and friends.

Virginia is survived by her son, Gregory Reed of Fortson, GA; her grandchildren, Michelle (Dean) Maddox of Fortson, GA and Michael (Ami) Reed of Midland, GA; her great-grandchildren, Kaylan Maddox of Fortson, GA and Connor Reed of Midland, GA; and her siblings, Geraldine Goodwin of Belpre, OH and Lonnie Ray (Linda) Simmons of Willoughby, OH. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Percy Lee “Jack” Reed.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in The Mill Room, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at 11:00am. Pastor James Friberg officiating the services. Family will be visiting with friends an hour prior. Burial will follow at Parkhill Cemetery, Columbus.
