Walter Whitton, age 40, resident of Midland, Georgia, died on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, 11 a.m. with Shane Melton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 15, 2015 from 5-7 p.m.
Walter was born on January 4, 1975 to Andrew Jackson Whitton, Jr and Audrey Elizabeth Carroll Whitton. He was an avid hunter and loved his cell phone. Walter was Baptist by faith and loved his family. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Whitton. Walter is survived by his parents, Andrew and Carolyn Whitton; brothers, Jack Whitton and his wife Sha, Matthew Whitton, Travis Dykes, Keith Whitton, and Jason Dykes; one sister, Angela Dykes; two daughters, Brittany and Brianna Whitton; two granddaughters; four step-granddaughters; many nieces; nephews; one special friend, Anthony "Tony" Kindred; numerous other relatives and friends. Any contributions may be made to the family in his memory.
