Walter Gordon Wright, 83, of Fortson passed away on March 3, 2011. Mr. Wright was born June 9, 1927 to the late Walter and Bernice Appleby Wright. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2011 in the Chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus. Visitation for Mr. Wright will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 5, 2011 at the funeral home. Mr. Wright served his Country in the United States Navy during World War II. He was employed with The White Company for 29 years, after his service with The White Company he opened Wright’s Office Supply. Mr. Wright is survived by his wife of 63 years Ann Hayward Wright, one son, Richard Wright his wife Lisa, two grandchildren, Sallie Wright Cooper her husband Robert and Walter Christopher Wright, two great-grandchildren, Robert Jacob Cooper and Walter Riley Cooper, two sisters, Ann Wright Mobley and Frieda Ensminger Moye her husband Kyle and several nieces and nephews all of Columbus.
