Willa Mae Evans Scow

COLUMBUS, GEORGIA- Willa Mae Evans Scow, 79, passed away on April 28, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 - 7:00 PM.

Mrs. Scow was born October 11, 1933 in Waynesville, NC to the late John Wesley Evans and Maude Reeves Evans. She was a member of Evangel Temple and was an active committee member at Calvary Community. Mrs. Scow was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed watching the Atlanta Falcons and the Braves. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Scow was preceded in death by her husband, SSG (Ret.) McNeal Scow.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Coutu (Kenneth) of Columbus, GA and Kevin Scow (Angela) of Columbus, GA; four grandchildren, Angela Springer (Bobby) of Columbus, GA, Jeremy Coutu (Betsy) of Atlanta, GA, Matthew Scow and Austin Scow, both of Columbus, GA; one great-grandchild, Aiden Coutu of Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Clara Palmer of Waynesville, NC and Ruth Jones of Hendersonville, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

Flowers are accepted but memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Temple, 5350 Veterans Pkwy, Columbus, GA 31904.
