

William “Bill” E. Bailey, age 59, resident of Columbus, died on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at Columbus Hospice House. Memorial services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Monday, June 23, 2014, 6 p.m. with Father Jacob Almeter officiating.
The family will receive friends at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4-6 p.m. with Rosary being said at 6 p.m. with Father Jeremiah McCarthy officiating. Mr. Bailey, son of the late Holbrook and Maria Garcia Bailey, was born September 28, 1954 in Fort Riley, Kansas. He was a 1972 graduate of Baker High School, served his country honorably as a Radar Technician in the U.S. Army, and was a faithful employee of Tom’s Foods for over 30 years. Mr. Bailey enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a wonderful husband, father, brother, and “Paw Paw.”
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Linda Bailey of Columbus; two sons, John William Bailey and his wife Debra of Columbus and Jeremy Curtis Bailey and his wife Stephanie of Smiths Station, Alabama; one sister, Joyce Bailey Fiame of Ellerslie, Georgia; half-brother, Tommy Bailey and his wife Alice of Thompson, Georgia; six grandchildren, Collin, Anna, Kinsleigh, Ashton, Kolton, and Kannon; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
