William Albert Bishop

William Albert Bisop was born on June 22, 1958 in Texas and died on January 11, 2020 in Columbus, Georgia.
William was the son of Rutha Mae Hail Bishop and Billy E. Bishop of Kennedale, Texas. He was a 1977 graduate of Kennedale High School. William faithfully served in the United States Army during the Gulf War. Some of his decorations, medals, badges and ribbons include: South West Asia Service Medal Bronze Service Star-2, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal 2nd Award, National Defense Service Medal, Army Sesrvice Ribbon, Sharpshooter Marksmanship Badge Grenade, Marksman marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16, Army Lapel Button, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Saudia Arabia. William fulfilled several mechanic courses while he was enlisted to include: MI Abrams Tank Turret Mechanic, A3 Tank Turret Mechanic, and Track Vehicle Mechanic, along with completing his Primary Leadership Development Course. William was a Carpenter with Redmon Homes and retired from there. He attended Free Chapel of Richland, Georgia.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Billly E. Bishop and Rutha Mae Hail Bishop both of Kennedale, Texas; his little Angel, daughter, Amanda Lynn Bishop; and his former wife, Cynthia Cowell, they married December 1980 divorcing in 2003, but remained close friends.
He is survived by his son, William Bishop, Jr. of Lumpkin, Georgia; his daughters: Melissa Crawford of Cusseta, Georgia and her husband, Terry L. Crawford and Michelle Bishop-Garrett of Lumpkin, Georgia and her partner, Terrell Garrett; three grandson, five granddaughters, one great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
