January 4th, 2022, in Columbus, Georgia.
Bill was born October 20th, 1940 to Maude O. Frey and Ralph J. Frey of Allentown, Pennsylvania. He
attended Moravian Prep School in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, before joining the Army where he spent
several years overseas. On his return, he received an honorary degree from Elizabethtown College in
Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania.
Bill married the love of his life, Margaret “Peggy” L. Brimmer of Hazelton, Pennsylvania, on March 21st,
1964, in Phillipsburg, New Jersey. He spent his working years in industrial off the road tire sales at
Shrader’s Inc., BFOR Tire Co., and Yokohama Tire Co.. He retired at the age of 72 as a Regional Sales
Manager for Bridgestone/Firestone Tire Corporation.
Bill was a Master Mason and Shriner who loved travel, fishing, golfing, and spending time with his
family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maude O. Mortensen and Ralph J. Frey, who died honorably,
serving his country in the Navy during the last few days of World War II aboard the U.S.S. Shea. He is
also preceded in death by his Mother-in-law, Jean Brimmer, and Father-in-law, Daniel Brimmer…who
loved him as if he were their own.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Peggy, and their two children: Son Scott and Daughter-in-law Kristin
Frey, and Daughter Stacy and Son-in-law Steven Ford. His siblings: Carolyn Kline and Phillip and
Sister-in-law Peggy Mortensen. His Grandchildren: Morgan Frey, Kelly Frey, Sawyer Ford, and his
great-grandson Connor Frey.
Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association. The family of Bill wishes to extend their sincere
thanks to everyone from Legacy Reserve at Old Town, the staff of the Memory Care Unit there, and the
entire staff from Ultra Hospice…your love, care and support will never be forgotten.
