William Graves Hollomon, III (Billy) - dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at his home in Columbus, GA on Saturday, September 24, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children. An honored veteran of the Vietnam War and longtime resident of Columbus, Georgia, Billy died after a short but intense battle with liver cancer.
Billy was raised in Richland, Georgia .Soon after his marriage he entered the Army. The U.S. Army recognized Billy for his honorable service with a Bronze Star. He didn’t speak much about his time in Vietnam or this honor but he was the first to thank other service members for their service.
After working diligently to provide everything he could for his family, Billy retired from Char-Broil. Upon retirement, he spent much of his retired time playing golf, watching college football, and taking care of others.
Everyone who knew Billy knew that he was an extremely kind, loving, gentle, and peaceful person and that he loved his family very much. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Hollomon, his sister, Kimberly Gavin, his daughter, Mary C Lewis (Dean), his son William G Hollomon IV (Stacey) , his son Andrew E Hollomon and his grandchildren Garren, Haygan, Ashley, Zach, Jessica, Mitch and Melissa, and 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
To say that his family and friends will miss him greatly is an understatement. Between his unselfish giving of his time and talents and his love of golf and family, Billy was a well-respected and cherished member of the community as well as a fabulous father and husband. He was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Kocian, his step-father, Gene Kocian, his Grandmother, Louise Hollomon, his Great Aunt, Martha Johnson and his brother, Jimmy Hollomon.
The family would like to thank Columbus Hospice on Moon Road for their compassionate care during Billy’s short fight. They’d also like to thank all of the family and friends for their support and prayers during this difficult time.

There will be a visitation on Friday, September 30, 2022, from 10:00-12:00PM at Striffler-Hamby on Macon Road in Columbus, Ga. There will be a memorial service at Living Grace Methodist Church located at 3969 Edgewood Circle in Columbus on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.
