Today my heart is broken.  My friend of more than 50 years is gone.  I met Harold when I was thirteen years old.  My grandfather Buddy Sorrels helped to raise Harold before Harold moved to California.  We have such fond memories.  The best memory that will substain me for a life time is the time that Harold shared with me that he had talked with the Lord.  During a trying time in life in a battle with cancer, he visited a chuch "Lamb Babtist Church" in Ladonia Alabama.  He shared with me that he was ready to go that he had made things right with GOD.  We had no idea that he would continue to thrive and that one day GOD would see fit to bring him home in that Semi that he loved so much.  I will forever value his friendship forever.  I can't ever remember a day when I could not reach out and touch him. Whether it was Burnham Trucking, or Newman Construction or his own shop out in Ladonia.  We always managed to stay in touch.   Because of our conversation a few years ago, I know that we will continue to be in touch through eternity...He and I both believed in GOD above :  John 3-16 "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotton son, that who so ever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting Life"....that scripture reassures me that Harold has everlasting life and I will see him again....RIP my friend forever .....Joy Carter Oliver.....

So so sorry and saddened to hear about my Uncle Harold. 
I’m the eldest daughter of my Uncle Harold’s Sister, Evelyn, 
We lived so far apart, yet, anytime my Uncle was on the road. He would always stop to visit us.  
He was quite a character.  So full of life and antics.   
I have and will always have the fondest memories of my Uncle Harold

My sympathy & condolences to the family of W.H.Turnage, aka "Dale". Dale will always be remembered by myself as a mentor to me and as my dear friend. He will truly be missed by my family and I. Many miles were travelled together by he and I, as well as he and other members of my family. Those memories will never be forgotten or erased. I will forever cherish the times that he and I have spent together. The trucking industry has lost another true professional with the passing of one of my best friends. A scholar of his trade.

I remember the first time I met you, many years ago. Over the years we ended up sharing children and then grands and greats. I enjoyed your humor, you were always respectful and nice to me. I also remember the last time I saw you, I didn’t know it would be the last time. You will be missed by your many friends and loved ones, but we will see you again, beyond the stars. 

I Remember Mr. Turnage when I was younger,  when I got to spend the night with his daughter shelly wood turnage (best friend) he was always cutting up with us and making jokes, he was a great person,  he will be missed.  My prayers are with all his family and friends.  

My Uncle Harold’s house was one of my homes away from home when I was growing up. This week more than ever I wish we could turn back time and go back to when me and my cousins were little and our parents  were younger. Love you all! We will miss you uncle Harold! 

It was such a sad day finding out the great H.T. was gone. Not only were you my father in law for many many years but you were the only father figure I had in my life.  Yes, in our early years there was tension but we got through that. I used to say that Mark was just like you but I received a triple dose of H.T.  with Tyler. You were his best friend, you taught him a lot, he loved trucking with you, working on cars or just joking around. My children Holly, Brandon, Jason & Tyler love their "Poppy"

We at Rodgers are extremely saddened with the lost of one of our own. Harold had been a familiar face with our company for many  years, seeing him always brightened our day. Our condolences to Mark, Jason, Tyler and Harold's entire family, We will miss him dearly. RMCI

I was saddened to hear of Harold's passing. We met long ago and our paths kept crossing. We became friends and he was always a great guy with a good joke and a winning smile. He has forgotten more about engines that most people will ever learn. He always enjoyed sharing his knowledge with friends and helping whenever he could get his hands on some tools. I enjoyed hearing his latest story from the road as he travelled quite a bit. His stories were always interesting and sometimes he would have the whole room full of guys laughing. He will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to his family.
