

Tim Vang, age 48, resident of Columbus, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Emory Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Memorial services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Friday, February 23, 2018, 5:30 p.m. with Reverend Kevin Baker officiating.
Tim was born December 18, 1969 in Corning, New York. He operated Tim’s Floor and More in the Columbus area. Tim coached girls softball in the Pioneer League for over 10 years; was an avid hunter and fisherman; an excellent artist; and a member of the Broken Arrow Hunting Club.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Caryn Vang. Tim is survived by his wife, Amy Vang of Columbus; two daughters, Sydney Vang of Columbus and Layke Vang, also of Columbus; his mother, Martha Vang of Phenix City, Alabama; his father, Bill Vang and his wife Susan of Columbus; two sisters, Tammy Echols and her husband Terry of Phenix City, Alabama and Robin Freeman and her husband Bill, also of Phenix City, Alabama; a brother, Christian Vang of Atlanta, Georgia; one niece; several nephews; many other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, a special fund for Layke's education has been set up at Synovus/CB&T under Amy Vang, or donations can be made to the Georgia Wildlife Foundation.
