A visitation of family & friends for Pearl will be held Wednesday, December 30, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, GA; a graveside service will follow, at 3:00 PM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia
Pearl was born on October 29, 1926, in Elba, AL; the daughter of John David Ross and Jessie Victoria Morrow Ross. She graduated from Macklehaney High School and attended Columbus Vocational Tech. and Columbus State. Pearl married Walter Jackson “Jack” Ellis in 1946, and he passed away in 1995. Through the years Pearl worked with her husband, Jack and their electrical business and also at Kemet Electronics and retired in 1988. Pearl enjoyed being active throughout her life. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Primitive Baptist Church. She enjoyed teaching square dancing at the Gallops Center, playing cards with friends, attending dances, bowling, watching the Braves, and line dancing with the Red Hat Ladies. Pearl was humble and selfless and realized that serving others when they were in need was a way to serve her Lord and Savior whom she loves. Pearl loved her family and cherished the time she was able to spend with them as they meant everything to her.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Jack.
Survivors include: her four sons, Jerry Michael Ellis, Mickey Lamar Ellis, Robert Stephen Ellis, Walter Jay Ellis; one daughter, Rhonda Diane Russell; 14 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, and five great great great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Alice Shaw.
