Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus with Reverend Watson McKemie and Reverend Paul Thomas of Evangel Temple Assembly of God officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Temple Benevolence Fund, 5350 Veterans Parkway, Columbus, GA 31904.
Mrs. Canady was born on May 20, 1913 to the late Willie Edgar Taylor and Cynthia Braswell Taylor. She was a member of The Sanctified Church of Christ and had lived in Columbus most of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Byron Canady, Sr. and a son, James Edwin Canady.
Survivors include her son, John Byron Canady, Jr. (Margaret) of Columbus; two daughters, Marilyn Austin of Columbus and Martha Smilie (Robert) of Columbus; nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
