
Cryptside services for Mr. Warner will be 2:00 pm, Monday, May 14, 2012, in the Chapel of the Pines Mausoleum at Parkhill Cemetery, according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA.
Mr. Warner was born May 9, 1917, in Humboldt, NE., to the late George W. Warner, Sr., and Lucy Maye Bliss Warner. In addition to his parents Mr. Warner was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Zamiatala Warner and grandson, David Warner Hudson. He served his country in the United States Army with 24 years of service until his retirement as rank of Major. Mr. Warner was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. After his military service, Mr. Warner served as Director of Plant Operations for Columbus College for 25 years and subsequently served briefly as an auditor for the state of Georgia. He resided most of time in Columbus, GA, then Charleston, S.C., and finally in Johnson City, TN. for the past 6 years.
Survivors include three daughters; Linda Wichlei, Carol Foster, and Sandra Hudson. He has eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He also has 2 sisters and 1 brother surviving.
