

Mrs. Carr was a seamstress for Dell Brothers, Dalton & Payne and Peggy’s Alterations for 40 years. She was a member of Columbus Elks Club.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Charles Aigner officiating. There will be no calling. Private inurnment will be at Hartsville College Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan, Nov. 20, 1929, Mrs. Carr was the daughter of Kanomato and Mitono Yamasaki Sakaki. She moved to the United States in 1953 and became a U.S. citizen in 1958. She married Jerome Carr Aug. 13, 1977, in Franklin. He preceded her in death June 18, 1982.
She is survived by stepdaughters, Jerrie (Bill) Keck of North Vernon, Bobbie Kinsey of Columbus, Jill Carr of Indianapolis and Kim (Tony) McCauley of Colorado; a brother, Yukeo Sakaki of Japan; several stepgrandchildren; and several nieces in Japan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Masayoshi Sakaki.
