Alice Ruth Dillon

Alice Ruth Dillon, 87, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Majestic Care of North Vernon. Alice was born September 14, 1931 in Bedford, Indiana, the daughter of Ollis and Leafie Tarr. She married Glenn Dillon on November 17, 1950 and together they had two children, Danny and Debbie.
Throughout her life, Alice was a homemaker and spent her time raising her children. She was also considered a “second mother” to several of the neighborhood kids. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing cards, and was an avid Tabloid reader.
Survivors include her son, Danny (Barb) Dillon; her two granddaughters, Amanda (Michael) Murphy and Derika Arnholt, and a great-grandson, Owen Murphy.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn Dillon; her daughter, Debbie Mahoney; and her sister, Mary Francis Porter.
A Funeral Service for Alice will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor David Huey officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials in Alice’s name may be made to American Cancer Society.
Myers-Reed Chapel is serving the Dillon Family.
