Alma Doris Hedger

She was born on January 28, 1932, to Leonard Johnson and Augusta Tankersley. Alma married the love of her life, Robert Hedger, on September 17, 1954. They shared 62 years of marriage before Robert’s passing in August 2016.

Alma is survived by her children: Robert (Cindy) Hedger, Michael (Paula) Hedger, and Edwina Hedger. She also leaves behind ten grandchildren: Sarah Hedger, Robert Hedger, Elaine Hedger, Megan Hedger, Candace (John) Brandenburg, Michael (Dayna) Hedger, Elizabeth (John) Roberson, Eric Hedger, Dustin (Cari) Renner, and Sam (Claudia) Renner; as well as fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hedger; her siblings, Thelma Brown, Flossie Everett, Lucretia Jones, Nora Clark, Granville Johnson, Oscar Johnson, and Pearl Johnson; two nephews, Kenneth Brown and Roger Jones; and a niece, Denise Johnson.

Alma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Above all else, she deeply loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She found joy in cooking and gardening, always delighting in caring for her family and creating a warm, welcoming home.

A private service for family and friends of Alma will be held on January 15, 2026, at Hathaway-Myers Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery.
