Bertha was born April 12, 1931 into a large family of children, however, she was raised in the Robert and Dorothy Wallace family. She married Alfred Ferguson in 1952. They had one daughter, Dorothy.
Most of her adult life Bertha worked in local restaurants.
Survivors include two sisters, Charlotte (Jim) Battin and Mary Morford, both in Columbus, Indiana and a brother, Bruce (Cindy) Wallace, who lives in Clarksville, Tennessee. Another brother, Robert Wallace, preceded her in death.
Survivors also include six nieces. One nephew, preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, daughter, and a granddaughter.
Bertha was a friendly person and all those who were fortunate to know her enjoyed her company. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to Just Friends Adult Day Services, 900 Lindsey Street, Columbus, Indiana 47201 where she spent many happy days in her later years or to Bartholomew County Humane Society, 4415 E. 200 S, Columbus, Indiana 47201. Bertha loved all animals, especially dogs.
