Betty Jean Penisten

Betty was born in Columbus October 30, 1920, the daughter of Otha Victor and Otice Eurlene Glick Larkin. She married Wilbur Steinkamp in August of 1943; he preceded her in death in September of 1944. She married Paul E. Penisten March 28, 1948; he preceded her in death February 8, 1992.

She was a former employee of Cummins Engine Company, Office of Bartholomew County School System, First Christian Church office and Simmen-Penisten Hardware Store. She was a member of First Christian Church and Phi Beta Psi Sorority.

She is survived by sons, Dennis Penisten of Littleton, Colorado and Douglas (Alphie) Penisten of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded by parents; 3 sons, Gregory, Brian and Larry Penisten; husbands.

Funeral 1:00 p.m. Friday Hathawawy~Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Tyler Tolbert officiating. Visitation from 11:00 a.m. to service time Friday. Burial in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.hathaway-myers.com
