Calvin Leon Richards

Mr. Richards was born in Columbus, IN. on October 10, 1932 the son of the late Calvin and Caroline Brooks Richards.

He married Carolyn Garris in Columbus, IN. on June 02, 1957 and she survives.

Mr. Richards was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War.

He had worked for various vending companies for 30 years.

Mr. Richards attended The Garden Church in Franklin, IN.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Mr. Richards will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at Myers-Reed Chapel at 3729-25th St., Columbus, IN. 47203 with Larry Manning officiating.

Calling hours will be from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday and from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service on Wednesday.

Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, IN. with military graveside rites presented by members of The Bartholomew County Veterans Color Guard.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the donor’s choice of charities.

Along with his wife of 55 years, Mr. Richards is also survived by 2 daughters, Penny (Brian) Haddan of Nineveh, IN. and Priscilla (Jim) Ogden of Winter Haven, FL.; a brother, John Wayne (Carolyn) Richards of Columbus, IN.; 4 grandchildren, Monica (Scott) McKeown of Whiteland, IN., Danielle (David) Combs of Franklin, IN., Anthony Stillabower of Tallahassee, FL. and Ryan Haddan of Nineveh, IN.; and 2 great grandchildren, Noah and Charlee McKeown both of Whiteland, IN.

Along with his parents, Mr. Richards is also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Felicia and Annette Richards; and 2 sisters, Mildred Schultz and Pauline Throup.
