Gene has always been a part of our life. Our family's were close since I can remember. He is with the lord, family and friends now and we are so very thankful we were able to have him for these years. Tears in my eyes a hurt in my heart but joyful that he is home. The best man we have ever had the privilege to have in our lives.
Much love

Sara, Chris and I are so sorry for your loss. Your Dad is now in his forever home. What a wonderful time he must be having! After he greets everyone in heaven and sits at the feet of Jesus, I bet Jesus is going to put him in charge of the gardens! Blessings to you and the family. We love You!

Sara, I am truly sorry for the earthly loss of your father. I know it hurts more than anything right now. It seems like you just got back from your visit with him and everything was fine. Just know that you have many people praying for your family as you prepare for your Dad's home-going. We can add his name to the "Settle" bench outside the Church.
Praying for you,
Julie and Larry Jones

Now I have learned of one of the greatest losses in my lifetime - Gene Settle - Mom and his mate were known as Ethel and Lucy and Gene would call as ask for them - Susan the oldest daughter was my playmate - Sara Jane was our sidekick, Danny was the same age as my daughter. Gene was my role model and I loved him so. It seems there has always been a Settle in my life - life goes forward but the hole left in my heart is huge, and the love I felt for this man was as big as a mountain. RIP Gene I hope and pray you know how much I loved you......hugs, prayers and healing during this difficult journey for all his loved ones. Georgann Stroud-West and family

I can't remember when there wasn't a Gene Settle in my life. Growing up he actually served as a father image at many times during my childhood, Susan was my playmate and Sara Jane was our sidekick. My heart is broken beyond words. The loss of the person that was such a role model will be greatly felt for many years to come. RIP my dear man - you are loved more than words can say and my heart has a hole that cannot be filled. Hang on to your memories of this wonderful father Sara - and I am right here if you need me....I love you more Gene....my heart is broken...and my memories will keep me in prayer and peace.
