

He devoted his life to taking care of his wife and family. He was always learning new things and was very interested in stained glass, photography and computers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, with Pastor Mark R. Teike officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Born in Seymour May 20, 1915, Mr. Mellencamp was the son of Louis and Martha Plump Mellencamp. He married Helen L. Lowe Oct. 31, 1943, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
Mr. Mellencamp is survived by his wife; a daughter, Sarah (James) Davis of Omaha, NE; a son, Mark (Marnie) Mellencamp of St. Joseph, MO; sisters, Lucille (Bill) Lockman of Ovieda, FL, and Bernice (Charles) Fox of Ovieda, FL; a brother, Lou (Donna) Mellencamp of Arizona; and grandchildren, Victoria (Jesse) Sitz of Omaha, NE, Caitlain and Lizzie Mellencamp of St. Joseph, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Glen and Paul Raymond Mellencamp; and a grandson, Jimmy Davis.
