Dorothy J. Coon

Dorothy was born in Columbus May 18, 1940 the daughter of Morris Ruddick and Dorothy Kintner Ruddick Haddix. She married Jerry E. Coon February 14, 1959 in Columbus; he preceded her in death November 11, 1996.

She was a member of East Columbus Christian Church and was secretary at Columbus Christian School for over 20 years.

She is survived by son, Thomas L. (Sue) Coon of Columbus; daughter, Susan G. (Wayne) Carnes of Franklin; brother, Robert (Ann) Ruddick of Chester, Montana; sister, Sharon (Archie) Spangler of Columbus; brother, Stephen Ruddick of Indiana; grandchildren, Roderick S. (Joss) Morales of Taylorsville, Feliz N. Anderson of Franklin, Adaliz G. (David) Owens of Franklin, Dominick R. Morales of Franklin; great grandchildren, Charlotte Anderson of Franklin, Jonan and Maia Morales of Taylorsville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Deborah Joan Coon; Step-father, Gerald Haddix.

Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Thursday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Larry Coon officiating. Visitation 4~8 p.m. Wednesday and from Noon to service time Thursday. Burial in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
