We met Ed in the late 90's when he had his magic shop in Nashville, Indiana.   We started going to magic meetings there and eventually formed an IBM ring.   We also met on Sundays for dinner in Columbus, Indiana with other magic friends.   Ed always encouraged us to perform magic and provided constructive criticism.   Over the past few years our Sunday dinners were less often as our lives got busier, but we always enjoyed our time with Ed and Barb.   We were sad to hear that Ed had cancer at our September dinner.   He was determined to fight it and we were hopeful.   We will miss Ed's sense of humor and magic talents!   We will always remember how he ended his magic shows - he would say that what he did was not real magic, but tricks meant to entertain.   He would go on to say that there is real magic in the world - the love between a man and a woman, family and friends, flowers blooming in the Spring.   Ed had real magic in his life and we were fortunate to have known him.

Ed was a good man who dearly loved his wife, magic and of course his Pepsi's!  I had the pleasure to work with Ed for nearly two years at Columbus Behavioral Center.  He was a personable co-worker that had a very strong work ethic.  We often joked that we were part of the over-forty club up in our office that we shared with our boss, Dennis.  Ed was very good at all aspects of maintaining our facility, but where he really shined was working with wood.  He had a knack of being able to repair each and every piece of furniture that the kids would bust up.  I can fondly remember more than once being headed to the dumpster with a pile of broken lumber, thinking I'd have to replace it because it was in so many different pieces and he'd say, "Tom, put that in the garage and I'll see what I can do with it."  I honesly don't think he ever had anything he couldn't repair.  He often would talk about his wife Barb, of whom he was very fond of and of course his girls and grandchildren.  He was a special person that could tell a good story and always had a kind or funny word to make those around him smile.  We'll miss ya, Ed...
