Edith L. Carr
November 23, 1923 – June 12, 2021

Edith L. Carr, 97, of Columbus died at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
She retired as an executive secretary after working at Camp Atterbury, Hamilton Cosco, Home Federal, PECO, and Larry Nunn & Associates. Mrs. Carr was a member of First Baptist Church, Sigma Phi Gamma Sorority, Elks Club, and MRC. She was also the last surviving member of The Manila High School Class of 1941.
A funeral service for Mrs. Carr will be conducted Friday, June 18 at 11 a.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Friends may gather for visitation at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Mrs. Carr will be laid to rest at Garland Brook Cemetery following the service.
Mrs. Carr was born in Clarksburg, West Virginia on November 23, 1923. She was the daughter of Rev. William B. Jenkins and Dora E. Wharton. Her mother Dora passed away when Edith was only three years old and she was raised by her father and step-mother, Elva S. Sagar.
She married Donald F. Carr on May 9, 1942. He and her parents preceded her in death. Also preceding her are three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanne (Ken) Greenlee of Columbus; three sons, Jerry L. (Marty) Carr of Martinsville, Jon R. (Sheila) Carr of Columbus, Jacke C. (Marti) Carr of Houston, Texas; sisters, Jean (Ken) Williams and June (Don) Dawson; sister-in-law, Polly (Jim) Jenkins; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
