Ella Faye Speer, 67, of Columbus died 10:21 a.m. January 4, 2019 at her home. She was born in Nashville, Indiana January 13, 1951, the daughter of Omar and Rose Powell Barwick. She married Jack Speer in 1982 in Mill Race Park; he preceded her in death March 2001. Mrs. Speer was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by daughter, Kim (William Bunch) Prather of Columbus; son, Matt (Ashley) Speer of Marshall, MI; sisters, Jean Grider of Columbus, Evie (Ronnie) Scoville of Alabama, Anna (Jim) Garmon of Greenwood, IN, Linda (Kenny) Bryant of Columbus, Sherry (Richard) Hicks of Connersville, IN; brothers, Kenny (Kay) Barwick of Elizabethtown, Bryan (Christie) Barwick of Columbus and Greg (Anna) Barwick of Columbus; 10 grandchildren . She was preceded in death by parents; husband; son, Aaron Prather; sister, Janice Whittington. Funeral service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3330 30th Street Columbus, IN 47203, with Bishop Matthew Henrichsen officiating. Calling will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. to service time. Burial will follow in Flatrock Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at

Rest In Heaven <3 I pray that you are happy, and pain free. I know that you were welcomed by Jack, Aaron, and your parents with open arms. I can only imagine what a day that was!! Thank you for continuing to treat me as your daughter and loving me after the recent life changes we endured. I will miss our chats and am so glad that we continued to stay in touch and I am so glad I came and visited a while back and we could talk about things. Rest in Heaven Faye! I will miss our chats, and messages :) Love you tons!!!
