George R. Wells

George was born in Jackson County, Indiana July 14, 1926 the son of Roscoe and Harriett McMahon Wells. He married Viola Goodin; she preceded him in death April 16, 2012.

He served in the U.S. Army as a Military Policeman. He was a retired self-employed semi truck driver, had worked for Montgomery Ward as a service technician and did auto mechanics and auto body shop work. He was a member of Faith Assembly Church of Jeffersonville, IN.

He is survived by daughters, Louise Stilabower of Orlando, FL, Ethel (Jean) Sneed of Hope and Brenda (Rick) Astle of Mountain View, Ark; sons-in-law, Rick Wiltsey and John Thompson; grandchildren, Cindy Carbrey, Kenneth Stillabower, Donna DeBusk, Debbie Cooley, Tammy Lawson, Kim Roberts, Richard Astle IV, Jourdan Ashcraft and Brandon Thompson; great grandchildren, Christopher DeBusk, Katie Lucas, Casey Cooley, Richard V and Dominick Astle, London Alicia Kay Ashcraft, Nohlan Lawson; great great grandchildren, Gauge and Hannah DeBusk

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Viola; daughters, Margie Wiltsey and Alicia Thompson..

Funeral service 1:00 p.m. Monday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Brother James C. Allen and Bro. Kevin Crase officiating. Visitation from Noon to service time. Burial in Garland Brook Cemetery.
