Jane Owings

Jane was born in Bartholomew County August 22, 1933 the daughter of Irvin F. and Helen V. Collins Newcomb. She married Robert J. Owings August 23, 1955 in Columbus; he preceded her in death July 27, 2017.

She was a former employee of Public Service Indiana and Bartholomew County School System where she was a teacher’s aide. She was a member of Faith Victory Church and was very involved with the church and her family.

She is survived by sons, Rob (Carole) Owings and Mark (Dona) Owings both of Columbus; brother, Larry Newcomb of Columbus; grandchildren, Joshua Owings of St. Louis, MO and Whitney Owings Austin (Andy) of New York City, NY.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son Brent Owings; 2 sisters.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Pastor Mark Owings officiating. Visitation 4~7 p.m. Sunday and from Noon to service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Garland Brook Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.myers-reed.com.
