Jeffery Howell "Jeff" Gehrt

Mr. Gehrt was a 1972 graduate of Columbus High School and attended IUPUI in 1972 and 1973. He enjoyed fishing, golf, vacationing to the beach where he collected sea shells, Daytona 500 racing, stamp collecting and spending time with family and friends. He was employed at McBeth Hardwood in Edinburgh.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with Dan Wallace officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday.

Mr. Gehrt was born May 16, 1954 in Coronado, California, the son of Ray B. and Connie J. Moore Gehrt.

Survivors include his parents; sisters, Susan (Brad) Criswell and Betsy Gehrt; nieces and nephews, Aaron and Byron Barger, Tyler and Sarah Criswell, all of Columbus; and his faithful feline friend of 16 years, Samantha.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cletus and Mildred Moore and Frank and Wanda Gehrt.
