Joan Hargrove Terkhorn

Mrs. Terkhorn was born in New Albany, IN. on October 30, 1928, the daughter of the late Schuyler and Agnes Plunkett Hargrove.

She married Charles Fredrick Terkhorn in Seymour, IN. on January 11, 1948 and he preceded her in death on June 29, 1998.

Mrs. Terkhorn was a homemaker.

She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Columbus, IN.

She enjoyed playing Bridge.

The Memorial Service celebrating the life of Mrs. Terkhorn will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, February 24, 2011 at the Hathaway-Myers Chapel at 1022 Pearl St., Columbus, IN. 47201 with Pastor John W. Armstrong officiating.

Calling hours will be from 12:30 P.M. until the time of the service at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday.

Inurnment will be in the St. Peter’s Lutheran Cemetery in Brownstown, IN.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Grace Lutheran Church Foundation, the American Cancer Society or to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Mrs. Terkhorn is survived by two sons, C. Patrick Terkhorn of Ironton, OH. and Mark E. Terkhorn of Edinburgh, IN.; a sister, Patricia Toppe of Seymour, IN.; and three grandsons, Shawn (Carol) Terkhorn of Philadelphia, PA., Seth Terkhorn of Rochester, NY. and Todd Terkhorn of Ironton, OH.

Along with her parents and husband, Mrs. Terkhorn was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Jean Richart.
