

She was born in Elizabethtown, Indiana, Oct. 8, 1933, the daughter of Otis Craig and Josephine Ault Craig Emly.
Mrs. Thompson worked as a waitress in her early years, then at the Columbus Cannery and then Vernco, which later became Ventra, from which she retired. She loved roller skating, camping with her family, holidays, puzzles, flea markets and festivals.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Bishop Bryan Busselberg officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by a son, Mitchell Lee Thompson of Columbus; a daughter, Betty Jo Thompson of Columbus; grandchildren, Angela and Amberly Broughton, Jeremy (Cindy) Thompson, Amanda (Josh) Blanton, all of Columbus, and Melissa (Jason) Sailor of Franklin; great-grandchildren, Jonah Benjamin and Jenah Renee Muir, Britini McKee, Morgan Arnholt and Lindsey Thompson, Mya Blanton all of Columbus, and Madison Sailor of Franklin; and a brother, Max Craig.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Benjamin F. Thompson, on April 29, 2010; a daughter, Tamara Ann Thompson; a daughter-in-law, Carol Lynn Thompson; a granddaughter, Natalie A. Thompson Harden; brothers, John and Harry Manuel Craig; and a sister, Betty Lou Montgomery.
