John Christopher Parke

Mr. Parke was born on March 9, 1938, to Palmer and Alice Parke in Detroit, MI. The family moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, where John attended school. After high school, he served in the US Army for two years, and then attended Indiana University, where he received his Master’s degree in Social Work.

He was a Clinical Therapist for the Department of Mental Health in Chicago, Illinois from 1967 to 1987, where he worked at Southeast Community Mental Health Center. There, he met Margaret “Peg” Joan Cramer. They were married in 1970.

John enjoyed music, travel, camping, bicycling and photography. He and his wife enjoyed travel to Italy, Europe, Morocco, Canada and throughout the United States.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Dr. Bill Parke.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret “Peg” Joan Parke; sister-in-law, Molly Parke; and twelve nieces.

A memorial service was held to honor John on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Four Seasons Community Chapel with Rev. Clem Davis serving as officiant.
