Jud B. Ashton

Judson “Jud” Ashton, 69, of Sellersburg, Indiana (formerly of Columbus, Indiana and Gainesville, Georgia) passed away on May 16, 2012 at Scott Memorial Hospital, Scottsburg, Indiana after a difficult battle with cancer. Visitation will be from 10:00am – 11:00am Friday, May 18, 2012 at Myers-Reed Chapel, Columbus, Indiana. Brian Teater will be officiating the funeral service following the visitation. Born on February 10th, 1943 in Sacramento, California, Jud was the son of Al and Frances (Latourette) Ashton. He married Linda Hudson on May 12th, 1964 in Winterhaven, California and they had three children. Jud was a very honest, hardworking man who spent his life working as a refrigeration technician. When not working, he loved to be on his boat fishing. He could always be found in his recliner reading or playing games on the computer. He also enjoyed joking and laughing with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Jud is survived by his wife; siblings, Judy Ashton and Jon Ashton of Maryland; daughters, Penny Wood of Knightstown and Mary (Phil) Miles of Columbus; son, Mike Ashton of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Anderson of Shelbyville, Emily (Jason) Alexander of New Salisbury, Sam (Michael) Gognat of Greenwood, John Miles of Columbus, Jared Miles of Bloomington, Maryssa and Jordan Ashton of Littleton, CO; and great-grandchildren, Cade and Kaylee Anderson, Emma Gognat, and soon-to-be Izayah Alexander.
