

Judy was born July 24, 1943 to Daniel J. and Mary L. (Turner) Walls. She enjoyed Nascar Racing and could be found each year at the Daytona 500. Her sons and her family were the most important part of her life and she was loved by all who met her.
She was a proud graduate of Indiana University and worked as a schoolteacher and social worker in Indiana. Judy was one of the pioneers that helped begin the Head Start Program. She was also a foster parent taking in over 20 children on an emergency basis. She also had a strong Christian background coming from her grandfather, a Nazarene minister. Additionally, she was a Kentucky Colonel in the Moose Lodge and lifetime member of the Family Campers and RVers.
Survivors include her husband, Lanny D. Hatton of Holiday, FL; her sons, Robert Leslie of Clearwater, FL, John Leslie of Holiday, FL, and Rick Leslie of New Port Richey, FL; Lanny’s sons, Greg Hatton of Columbus and Tom Hatton of Holiday, FL; sisters, Marlene K. Greenlee of Winter Haven, FL, Sherri C. Baker of New Port Richey, FL, Julie (Eldon) Smith of Alabama; brother, Bryan D. Walls of Columbus; step-brothers, Larry Waggoner and Scott Waggoner; 6 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her foster daughter, Sherry Wagner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Robert “Al” Leslie, Sr.; and a step-brother, Mark Waggoner.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at Garland Brook Cemetery with Pastor John Sichting officiating.
