Karen Joyce Mason

Karen was born in Columbus February 5, 1942, the daughter of Wesley J. “Buck” Gooden Sr. and Grace Elizabeth Booker Gooden.

A Cummins Engine Company retiree, she was a member of Second Baptist Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Diesel Worker’s Union. She enjoyed golf, travel and shopping with her granddaughter, Charissa.

She is survived by son, Juan Mason of Columbus; granddaughter, Charissa Nicole Mason of Columbus; cousin, Dennis (Paulette) Roberts of Columbus, and a host of other cousins; and friend, Merrilene Ramsey of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Wesley J. Gooden Jr.

Funeral service will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Second Baptist Church with Pastor Larry F. Rowe officiating. Calling will be from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Garland Brook Cemetery.
