Kenneth Wayne Heath, 76. of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026 at Columbus Regional Hospital. He was born September 3, 1949, to Rose Marie Stegemiller and Ralph Heath. They preceded him in death.
Kenneth proudly served his country as a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he was a dedicated employee of Cummins and later retired from XPO Trucking. On June 1, 1978, Kenneth married Vermona Couch, with whom he shared a loving and enduring partnership.
Kenneth was an active member of his community, participating in The Ridge Church. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 655 and the VFW. His personal interests included motorcycle riding with his friend Gary Barnett, gardening, and watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. Kenneth had a passion for travel and explored the world whenever possible.
He is survived by his wife, Vermona Heath; his daughters, Amy Heath of Versailles, IN, and Amber Porter of Columbus. He was a beloved grandfather to Kyndra Thomas, Kayden Foster, Koady Porter, and Jacqueline Wood (Zack), and a great-grandfather to Maverick and Reagan. Additionally, he is survived by his brothers, Larry (Dora) Heath and Mark (Martha) Heath; his sisters, Rosanne (Tim) Mills, Rhonda (Al) Smith, and Linda (Danny) Works; his brothers-in-law, Joe and Dennis (Martha) Couch; and mother-in-law, Naomi Burns. He also leaves behind his little companion, Oreo.
In keeping with his wishes, all services will be private.
Memorials in Kenneth's name are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
Kenneth will be remembered for his service, dedication to family, and love of nature and travel.
