Linda L. Hudson Ashton

The youngest of seven children born to Robert Franklin "Frank" and Mary Emma Walton Hudson, Linda entered this world December 16, 1943 in Santa Anna, CA.

Linda married Jud Ashton May 12, 1964 in Winter Haven, CA. and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2012. They had three children.

A doting wife, mother, and grandmother, Linda loved being with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren have wonderful memories of times spent with her. She enjoyed listening to '50s rock 'n roll, dancing, making ice cream sundaes with her grandchildren, collecting Beanie Babies, wind-up toys and pigs, going to flea markets with her husband and shopping with her family.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Linda will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, May 06, 2013 at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St. with Pastor Brian K. Teater officiating.

Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM Monday.

Cremation will follow the service at The Columbus Crematory and inurnment will be in the Garland Brook Mausoleum.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Along with her parents and husband of 48 years, Linda was also preceded in death by her sister, Imogene (Hudson) Komes and five brothers, Cecil, Robert "Bob", Claude, Gerald "Jerry”, and Harold Hudson.

She is survived by two daughters Penny Wood (Doyle Beatty) of Knightstown, IN. and Mary (Phil) Miles of Columbus, IN.; a son Mike Ashton of Denver, CO.; seven grandchildren, Erin (Matt) Anderson of Shelbyville, IN., Emily (Jason) Alexander of New Salisbury, IN., Samantha (Michael) Gognat of Greenwood, IN., John and Jared Miles both of Columbus, IN. and Maryssa and Jordan Ashton both of Littleton, CO.; and four great-grandchildren, Cade and Kaylee Anderson of Shelbyville, IN., Izayah Alexander of New Salisbury, IN. and Emma and soon-to-be Andrew Gognat of Greenwood, IN.
