Linda was born October 27, 1946 in New Brunswick, NJ, to John and Anna (Compton) Muchanic. They preceded her in death.
Linda was a graduate of New Brunswick High School and Princeton Hospital School of Practical Nursing, Princeton, NJ. She also received her Certification in Surgical Nursing from the University of Virginia.
Mrs. Rapp worked at Columbus Regional Hospital as a surgical nurse for Dr. Macy. She also worked for the BCSC at Taylorsville Elementary School as the school’s first IT instructor.
Linda was also active in the community. She served on the Bartholomew County Extension Board, REMC Round Up Board, Bartholomew County Cattleman’s Association, Indiana State Cattleman’s Association, and volunteered in the Family Arts Building during the County Fair checking in quilts. She also enjoyed playing cards, baking pies and spending time with family.
Survivors include her loving husband of 46 years, Ronald M. Rapp; children, Ellen Rapp-Harker, and husband, Andrew of St. Paul, IN; and Nathan Rapp, and wife, Sara of Columbus; sister, Ruth Montana, and husband, Carl of Highland Park, NJ; and grandchildren, Emily, Landon, Erica, Benjamin, Wade and Alice. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Hope Moravian Church, with Pastor Andy Kilps officiating. Even if you cannot attend the service, the family invites you to attend a gathering and fellowship time immediately following the service in the church Moravian Outreach Center.
Linda fulfilled her longtime wish to donate her remains to the Indiana University School of Medicine as a way of giving back to thank those who have given to her over the years.
Memorials in Linda’s name are suggested to either the Bartholomew County 4-H Council or Our Hospice of
South Central Indiana.
