Lloyd was born in Jennings County Indiana, January 30, 1935, the son of David and May Jolly Bannister. He married Mary Grindstaff Hazelwood July 1, 1976 in Jennings County and she survives.
He worked for 41 years in the maintenance and machinery department of Golden Foundry, retiring in 2000. He was a member of Columbus Baptist Church, Clifford Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rite. He loved NASCAR and was an avid fan of I.U. Basketball and former coach Bobby Knight. He served in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1958.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Bannister of Columbus; children Larry (Debra) Bannister of North Vernon, Patty Montgomery of Tucson, AZ, Pam Bannister of Tucson, AZ, Stephanie (Wayne) Melton of Edinburgh, Lloyd Hazelwood of Columbus, Teresa (Randy) Stienstra of Mt. Dora, FL, Charlotte (Gene) Seymour of Brunswick, GA, Alvin (Jenny) Hazelwood of Edinburgh, IN, Wayne Hazelwood of Eustis, FL, GA,; sister, Ruth Bannister of Columbus; 11 grandchildren; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded by his parents; 11 brothers and sisters.
A private visitation will be held Thursday at Myers~Reed Chapel on 25th Street. A private funeral service will be conducted Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating.
