Loretta Vivian Wire
April 17, 1931 – March 23, 2021

Loretta Vivian Wire, 89, passed away Tuesday, March 23 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana. Loretta was born April 17, 1931 in Jackson County, Indiana to parents Walter David and Edythe G. Gates.
Loretta married Donald G. Wire on November 29, 1952. She worked at Columbus Regional Hospital for over 30 years. During that time she worked as an X-Ray Technician, and EKG Technician, and also worked in Medical Records, Admitting, Emergency Room, and Outpatient Registration. She retired from the hospital at age 65.
Loretta is survived by her husband, Donald; her son, Loren (Elizabeth) Wire; her sisters, Dorene Ward, and Areta G. Gilland; and her brother, David E. (Betty) Gates.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Keith Wire.
A Funeral Service for Loretta will be held Saturday, March 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Myers-Reed Chapel with Pastor Luke Maggard Officiating. Burial will follow at Garland Brook Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, March 26 at the funeral home from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Additional Visitation will be held Saturday one hour prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
In compliance with Indiana and CDC guidelines, social distancing ordinances must be maintained and masks are required at all times inside the funeral home.
Memorial Donations in Loretta's name may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
