

Mr. Thompson was a chipper and grinder inspector for Golden Foundry for many years.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street, with the Rev. Marcus D. Speer officiating. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until service time Sunday. Burial will be at Flat Rock Baptist Cemetery.
Born in Middlesboro, Ky., Aug. 8, 1944, Mr. Thompson was the son of Wint H. and Bobbie E. Moore Thompson. He married Sharon Kay Yarnell Jan. 13, 1967, in Columbus. She preceded him in death Nov. 8, 2004.
Survivors include his fiancee, Terri Smith of Indianapolis; a brother, the Rev. William H. Thompson of Middlesboro, Ky.; a sister, Pauline Owens of Michigan; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a son, Richard H. Thompson; a brother, Dubois Thompson; and sisters, Bessie Caywood, Etta Givens and Janice Sampson.
