Mary E. “Betty” Taggart Malcom, 95, of Taylor Road, Columbus, Indiana died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at 10:05 a.m. at Four Seasons Health Care Center.
A former secretary at Reliance Electric, Mrs. Malcom was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Elizabeth Circle. She was an avid bowler, played golf and was a gourmet cook and seamstress.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Four Seasons Chapel with the Rev. Brian Campbell and the Rev. Phyllis Hawkins officiating. Calling will be at the chapel Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Arrangements were made by Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th St.

Born April 6, 1916, at Nortonburg, IN, Mrs. Malcom was the daughter of Ralph and Ruth Miller Taggart.
She is survived by a stepson, Donald (Starr Ann) Malcom of Beech Grove; grandsons, Christopher Malcom of Beech Grove and Jeremy (Brandi) Malcom of Indianapolis; great-grandchildren, Chase Malcom, Eli Malcom and Lucy Malcom, all of Indianapolis; a sister, Barbara Draper of Sarasota, FL; and several nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Will Courtney; her second husband, Glen A. Malcom; a brother, Ralph Taggart; a sister, Rosalyn Craven; a sister-in-law, Pat Taggart; and brothers-in-law, Tom Draper and Fred Craven.
