Mary Alice O’Bryan, 88, the last of the passionate Pesch sisters from Plymouth, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at 8:50 AM at Four Seasons Health Care Center in Columbus, IN. Mrs. O’Bryan was born April 14, 1924 in Plymouth, IN., the daughter of the late Leo and Dorothy Harris Pesch. She married Dr. Richard B. O’Bryan August 25, 1945 in Plymouth, IN. and he survives. Mrs. O’Bryan received her nursing degree in 1945 from Indiana University. She was a loving mother, homemaker and she assisted her husband in his medical practice. She and her husband raised their family in Columbus, IN. for 30 years. They moved to Sarasota, FL. where they resided for 30 years before returning to Columbus, IN. in 2009. Mrs. O’Bryan was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Columbus, IN. She was also a member of the Tri Kappa Sorority and Bridge Club. She enjoyed reading, pottery, belly dancing and Happy Hour. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:30 AM Saturday, January 26, 2013 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, IN. with Father Dan Staublin officiating. Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 10:30 AM Saturday at the church. Inurnment will be at Garland Brook Cemetery. An Irish Wake will follow the services at 3:00 PM Saturday at Patti Fleming’s home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Susan G. Along with her husband of 67 years, Mrs. O’Bryan is also survived by a daughter, Patti O’Bryan Fleming of Columbus, IN.; three sons, Jack (Joanne) O’Bryan of Lafayette, IN., Michael O’Bryan of Columbus, IN. and Steve (Jenny) O’Bryan of Cincinnati, OH.; six grandchildren, Justin (Coleen) Fleming, Anne and Meg O’Bryan all of Lafayette, IN., Kaitlin (Jason) Crockett, Daniel and Jill O’Bryan all of Cincinnati, OH. and two great grandchildren, Arlynn and Maks Fleming both of Lafayette, IN. Along with her parents, Mrs. O’Bryan was also preceded in death by two sisters, Pat Drew and Helen Olds and a brother, John Pesch. www.myers-reed.com
