

Several years ago, Mr. Stickles owned two gas stations in Columbus then worked for Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation as supervisor of the bus garage. He also worked several years for Hoosier Auto Parts in Columbus until it closed, then worked for O’Reilly Auto Parts in Seymour.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a member and past commander of Edinburgh American Legion Post No. 233, and an avid NASCAR fan.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Hathaway-Myers Chapel on Pearl Street with Virgil Clotfelter officiating. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 9 a.m. until service time Friday. A graveside service will be conducted at noon Friday at Beech Grove Cemetery in Bedford, with military rites by members of Edinburgh American Legion Color Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Victory Junction Gang.

Born in Bedford June 26, 1946, Mr. Stickles was the son of Owen D. and Ruth Luttrell Stickles. He married Sara B. Loyd Dec. 29, 2002, in Columbus. She survives.
Other survivors include his father of Columbus; daughters, Suzanne (John Patrick) Meyer of Chino Hills, Calif., and Amy (Josh) McCurry of Seymour; a stepson, John (Melissa) Hohnstreiter of Granburg, TX; a stepdaughter, Carrie (Paul) Taskey of Fort Worth, TX; a brother, Jerry Allen Stickles of Florida; four grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Michael Stickles.
