He attended St Bartholomew and St Columba Catholic Elementary Schools
and graduated from Columbus High School. Pat was very musically inclined and taught himself to play studio-quality banjo, guitar, and fiddle by ear. He particularly loved bluegrass. A gifted artist, Pat won high school awards in painting and was the unofficial school artist for St. Columba School.

He could quote statistics from the Bulldogs 1960's Stearman glory teams by heart, and seldom missed attending area appearances of the Globetrotters with his mother. Pat shared his father's love for Corvair Corsas and enjoyed owning several classic American muscle cars.
