

A 1968 graduate of Columbus High School, Mr. Rea had worked for Stadler Packing Company and L&N Medical Supply. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and later enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Anne Marshall officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Born Sept. 6, 1950, Mr. Rea was the son of Henry M. and Blanche Lucille Wallace Rea. He and his wife, Kathy Lynn Chandler Rea, were married Sept. 14, 1968, and March 9, 2002.
Survivors include his wife, of Columbus; sons, Daniel Rea and Andrew Rea of Columbus; daughters, Melissa (Bryan) Cross and Rebecca (David) Bevis of Columbus; two former daughters-in-law, Kimberlee Kays and Lori Rea; grandchildren, Dustin Rea of Lafayette, Elijah Rea of Hope, Kelsie, Katelyn and Karissa Bevis and Kaylee Rea, all of Columbus; stepgrandchildren, Jasmine Tempest and Kelsea,Taylor Cross and Kelly Shepherd, all of Columbus; a sister, Janice Waskom of Indianapolis; and his beloved faithful companion dog, Purdy.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
