Robert T. Newton, 85, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana inpatient facility. He was born October 7, 1939, in Columbus, to Robert A. and Linnie M. (Moore) Newton. They preceded him in death.

Mr. Newton retired from Golden Foundry after 30 years of employment.

He is survived by his loving wife, Minnie J. Newton; five children, Robert T. (Guadalupe) Newton of North Vernon, Charles (Rebecca) Newton of North Vernon, Martha (Charles) Schwab of Columbus, Tammy (Todd) Garrity of Sardinia, and Rhoda (Troy) Armstrong of Columbus; and four siblings, Martha Day, Dale Newton, Naomi West, and Jane Conrad. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings.

A visitation will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Myers-Reed Chapel, 3729 25th Street, Columbus, IN 47201.
