Roger A. Burton

Mr. Burton was born in Columbus, IN. on November 19, 1938 the son of the late Walter Burton and Nellie Baldwin Burton DeSpain.

Mr. Burton was a United States Army Veteran and was honorably discharged on November 30, 1963.

He retired from Cummins Engine Company on December 01, 2003 where he worked in Quality Control.

Mr. Burton was an avid golfer and fisherman.

A Celebration of Life Gathering of Friends and Family will be from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 03, 2010 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th St.

Mr. Burton will be cremated locally at The Columbus Crematory on Pearl St. and inurnment will be at a later date at the Garland Brook Cemetery.

Mr. Burton is survived by his companion, Joyce Burton of Columbus, IN.; two sons, Roger A. (Brenda) Burton of Ellettsville, IN. and Lt. Col. Mark W. (Kim) Burton of Alexandria, VA.; a sister, Judy Massey of Phoenix, AZ.; a half-brother, Tim (Brenda) DeSpain of Phoenix, AZ.; and six grandchildren, Trevor and Nick Burton of Bloomington, IN., Allie Burton of Ellettsville, IN. and Luke, Scott and Sean Burton all of Alexandria, VA.

Along with his parents, Mr. Burton was also preceded in death by a half-sister, Sharon Garlic.
