Columbus Regional Hospital.
Sue worked as a teacher’s aide in the Bartholomew School System for many years. She loved helping the children succeed that she worried the system was leaving behind. She was also a long-time member of Shiloh Baptist Church where she loved creating and building life sized themed sets for the kid’s bible camp activities.
Sue cared deeply for her family and friends and was always there to help whenever needed.
She was so creative and spent a lot of her time planning and creating fun activities for her church family. Christmas was always her favorite time of the year. She loved decorating the outdoors with her hand made characters and always baking gingerbread houses from scratch where family and friends were always welcome to join in on the fun.
She was born in Bell, TX on August 2, 1944, to Joseph and Dolores Pickett. Sue married Dennis Wilber in 1973 in Amity.
Survivors include her brother, Joseph Nelson (Jill) Pickett of Ellenton, FL; sons, David (Barbara)
Wilber of Jacksonville, FL and Doug (Ari) Wilber of Indianapolis; granddaughters, Lori (Kaden)
Taylor and Jodi (Ryan) Wren; and four great grandchildren of Jacksonville, FL; and step-daughter
Cheryl Helton of Seymour. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her sister, Lindalu Hamilton.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Flat Rock Baptist
